International Student Programme Now Open for Registration New Emirates Airline Festival of Literature Initiative for Lebanese Students Announced

Organisers of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature today announced the start of a new initiative to encourage attendance of university students from Lebanon and the Arab region at this key annual event on Dubai’s calendar. The Festival has been a platform for Arab World authors since its inception and over the past 10 years has hosted some of the biggest names from Lebanon, including international bestselling author Hoda Barakat and prolific children’s author Fatima Sharafeddine.

As part of a project funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) in Lebanon "IDRAAC" proposes a draft law to protect older persons from discrimination and neglect

The Institute for Development Research Advocacy and Applied Care (IDRAAC) announced on Monday that it prepared a draft law to protect the elderly in Lebanon from discrimination and neglect. The proposed draft law allows the elderly or a person with symptoms that are caused by aging to have protection and precautionary measures before their health deteriorates and affects their mental capacity.

TEACHER FROM LEBANON NAMED IN THE TOP 50 SHORTLIST FOR US $1 MILLION GLOBAL TEACHER PRIZE 2018

A teacher from Lebanon has been included in the top 50 shortlist for the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize 2018 at globalteacherprize.org. Now in its fourth year, the US$1 million award is the largest prize of its kind.

Hiba Ballout, a biology teacher and science coordinator at Saint George Schools, Beirut, was shortlisted for the Global Teacher Prize 2018 having been selected from over 30,000 nominations and applications from 173 countries around the world.
